UFOLOGY 100 – INVESTIGATING UAPS and UFOS

Course Description:

In this dynamic four-week course, students will delve into the intriguing world of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) and Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). They will explore the history,
engage in investigative techniques—including witness interviews and evidence analysis—and navigate the process of obtaining official records through the Freedom of Information Acts in
Canada and the U.S. This comprehensive journey into UFOlogy is designed to equip students with the critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to discern genuine phenomena from
identifiable sources, thereby preparing them for meaningful contributions to the field.

Week 1:

  • Foundations and History of UFOlogy
  • Introduction to UFOlogy
  • History of the UFO Phenomena
  • Government and Military Programs
  • Major Historical UFO Cases

  • Discussion Question: 10% of Grade

Week 2:

  • Investigations I
  • Common UFO Phenomena
  • Types of UFO phenomena and characteristics of sightings
  • Interviewing Witnesses
  • Case Study: Lower Sackville UFO Incident

  • Discussion Question: 10%

Week 3:

  • Investigations II
  • Equipment for UFO Investigations
  • Distinguishing Between UFOs, Natural Phenomena and Man-made Objects
  • Report Writing and Documentation Ethical Considerations in UFOlogy (witness privacy, and data handling)
  • Networking with Researchers, Organizations, and Online Communities

  • Discussion Question: 10%

Week 4:

  • Research and Verification
  • Analyzing Physical and Digital Evidenc
  • Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) USA and Access to Information Act (AIA) CANADA
  • Utilizing Public Databases and Resources
  • Case Study: Successful Record Retrieval

  • Discussion Question: 10%
  • Short Paper / Case Analysis: 30%
